California is Getting HAMMERED with Epic Storms

    http://www.sacbee.com/topstories/story/2474486.html

Not since my son was born in 2002 have I seen this. The week of Dec 12 2002 was insane, and this so far is the same.

Visibility outside my office window makes it feel like 4pm, the freeway is moving at 20 mph and the wind is at 40-60mph.

Los Angeles and San Diego just got their THIRD tornado warning in 2 days. We dont get tornados out here....

Just a quick word, the big boy comes on Thur and there may be an even bigger storm by Sunday if the Radar pans out.

We are expected to get what you guys are getting. I hope you stay safe and warm!!

Is Corona in the area that the warnings are for too?
So go on, go on be your own, go on be your own star!
    A superstar in my eyes!

We just had a lot of fires up north last year, some very recently down south, so lots of flash flood warnings too.
Many residents were advised to get atleast a weeks worth of supplies in remote areas around here.

Hate to say this... but that should be standard regardless of how the weather is, then you don't have people running around like idiots trying to stock up on basic supplies.

Yeah My commute over highway 17 which is a two lane divided mountain and curvy highway was insane this morning.

One tree down blocking 1 SB lane
Four feet of flooding in some areas and minor mud slides
          PGE out blocking a lane
Caltrans (HWY Dept) out blocking a lane

took me almost an hour and forty minutes to go 35 miles

On top of that we lost power last night for a couple of hours

Man, I was complaining about my two block walk from a Bart station, 17 is an interesting drive even under ideal conditions....

                I'm loving it

I'm getting 3hr of pouring rain later one hour or so of warm sun with blue sky and high white clouds but then dark clouds move in again with another 3 hours of rain.

3 weeks ago I was going south bound highway 880 to Fremont it was nothing but thick fog and then like a tunnel you could see the light where it clear up, it was amazing and then after a few miles it was nothing but thick fog. thick fog that was less then 20feet visibility. no joke or exaggeration

Except for the tornados, this sounds like British weather.

Did you wear your bullet proof vest in case you ran into the BART police?

So I'm in San Mateo, and yesterday they were putting sandbags on all the manhole covers up and down the El Camino and Crystal Springs road because the run off through the resevoir was so high- I could see the covers floating back and forth as I drove by....

I think you should remove the last 3 words of this thread title.

You might get some confused people though..

Had to sandbag my garage door since the driveway has a super tiny slope. Hopefully the drains can keep up. On the plus side, I am getting the best sleep I've had in a long time; love the sound of rain

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
