The only advice I can think of is to understand that it is simply another phase of life. It is natural, and everyone who experiences the gift of life must come to grips with the fact that this gift has an expiration date. When I die, my one dream is that the people I have loved remember me as someone who loved them and life, and not feel sad for my passing. I keep trying to tell Minerva to have a party when I die, for I want people together remembering me and how I lived.

Hope this helps, and you have my condolences.

Prayer always helps me, but nothing is a greater healer than time, I am very sorry to hear of your loss, just know that the person you have lost is in a better place.

Sorry to hear of your loss BKnight. Make sure you comfort and confide in close friends and family. They no doubt feel the exact same way you do right now. It will get easier with time.

            Wakes > Funerals.

Everyone handles grief differently, but I've always found that taking some time to myself and remembering the good things really helps me get past the whole rage/denial phase of losing a loved one.

I am sorry BK. I lost my mom about 10 years ago.

Emotionally it takes time to get past the disbelief and anger. I spent weeks in a cloud. I could not figure out why strangers around me could keep on living normally and laughing - When my mother was dead!!!! Didn't they now that? (of course they didn't) I would actually get mad at them. I didn't know how life could go on. With time it's easier. You never stop missing them, it just becomes less painful.

All I can say is remember them and cherish the moments that you had. To this day, although I am sad that she is not here, I smile when I think about her.

This isn't exactly very good advice, I don't suggest it, but when one of my family members passed by, I thought of all the times they pissed me off. It disgustingly worked. Again I suggest not doing this

My condolences as well. Don't really have much else to add. Everyone deals with this differently, but as others have said, time is the best medicine.

                          My condolence's BK.

I lost my Grandfather on Sept 30th and my Great Uncle on Oct 6th of this year. Things still aren't the same. With time, it does get easier. Just surround yourself with family and friends.
So go on, go on be your own, go on be your own star!
