The National Weather Service says the snow total at D/FW International Airport has reached 7.9 inches, the most snow North Texas has ever recorded in a single day.

    (as of 7:15 PM Central)

Wow! And it's supposed to continue until about 2 in the morning.

EDIT: Officially up to 8.7 inches now (as of 8:45 Central)!

Maybe later--I actually have to go back to work shortly (letting some of the ice melt), and I'm off to a top DC restaurant tonight for Valentine's dinner--only suckers go out on that day itself. In the meantime, I posted some from the first round in the thread already.

Ok, a few more shots from Round 2. Note some of the details, like the blizzard forcing covered windows, and the impression of my door in the drift.

Nice pics, Rand! (in a way, besides all the rotten snow you have to deal with)

I hope that they do a better job of clearing snow there than they do in Madison. On most of the streets the right lane (the one that I have to drive the bus in) is about 2-3 feet narrower because of encroaching, hardened, glacier-like snowbanks, which usually makes the lane about one foot narrower than my bus. Really does wonders for traffic, and my attitude!
