This past weekend I was in Georgetown, TX (just north of Austin) to participate in the "Final 4" of high school soccer. Well fortunately enough for us, we survived and ended up winning the state championship, and in the process won the national championship as well! In Texas the private schools and public schools don't participate in the same leagues, with the exception of two private schools (one of them being mine). This is the first time a private school has won a team sport in the public school leagues!
A few things relating to the Texas soccer championship, from ESPN:
"Texas has the most demanding postseason of any state -- any season. This week's starts Texas' massive 128-team, single-elimination Class 5A tournament. It's mathematically easier to win an NCAA title in any team sport than it is to win a high school soccer title in Texas."
"At 25-0-0, Dallas Jesuit, which has been No. 1 in the FAB 50 since late January, officially will be crowned FAB 50 champion when the final rankings are released Tuesday."
And a of course a picture!
