Britain had already stopped Hitler from invading Great Britain. US and GB just helped the French get their country back.

Wow! Picture #41... I met that guy on Sunday and the two behind him. I was in Bedford, VA this past Sunday for the ceremonies at the D-Day memorial. Cool!
Great pics, good find bacon."Now more than ever the people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless, and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness, and corruption." ~President James Garfield

There were more than just the US and Great Britain involved in D Day. There were soldiers from France, Australia, Belgium, Czechoslovakian, Greece, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway and Poland. Oh and don't forget the Germans.

Not really related to D-Day but, I just heard Bletchley Park is digitizing everything and putting it online. Which is super cool. Bletchley Park for those who don't know is the place where they were able to crack messages enciphered with the German Enigma Cipher machine.
