So the mayor of Madison and some county executives travel to Europe on a "fact finding" mission about bike boxes (red boxes not painted on the roads but applied with heat so they last longer and cost more [I think that they are around $6,000 a box]) to make a bicycle friendly town even more bicycle friendly. So now we have these fancy red boxes that encourage bicyclists to weave to the front of traffic (which they did anyway) so that when the light turns green the traffic can try to weave past them again. Hey, at least the officials got a trip to Europe out of the deal, and a way to spend more money for the folks who don't follow the rules of the road anyway!
