Apparently George Lucas owns the rights to all hand held lasers in the future. (not like they haven't made enough money on the series already)

Almost every tactical light out there looks similar to what one might conceivably expect a light saber to look like as well. Grounds for lawsuit? Nah. I dug up a site that has a good number of lightsaber models on it. The only thing they have in common with this laser is that they're all hand held and have a light coming out of one end, lol.

I never realized teh word DROID was trademarked by Lucas.

It just seems like a word that was always here NO ???

The term "droid", coined by George Lucas for the original Star Wars film and now used widely within science fiction, originated as an abridgment of "android", but has been used by Lucas and others to mean any robot, including distinctly non-human form machines like R2-D2.

hah don't get me wrong, I use to have one when I was little. I have never played with dolls or anything (I had my first gas motorbike when I was 7). I used to have a pseudo-DarthVader mask and a lighsaber too. I have those pictures in Spain, maybe one day I will post them. But at least mine could be used as a sword because the laser was inside a kind of methacrylate tube :P
