My wife's due date is tomorrow (7/22/10). It seems like she is going to go past her due date.

Today she has an appointment for a baby "stress test" which I will be attending (good husband points!).

Between last Wed. and two weeks ago, the baby made no progress towards birth, that is the reason for the stress test.

It may come down to inducing labor, and some of the stuff has put an emotional stress on her, especially the thoughts of not having a healthy baby, delivery, or anything of that nature.

So please take the time to say a prayer for everything to flow smoothly and for everyone to walk away safe, healthy and happy.

Inducing labor is abosolutley nothing to worry about, we had to do that with our daughter. Everything will be fine I'm sure.

We had the opposite problem with my son. My wife had to go on bed rest for the last three months due to premature labor and he ended up being three weeks early but very healthy.

But things will be fine, p0002q. Our doctors, nurses, etc. do amazing work. When my daughter was being born the umbilical cord became wrapped around her neck. They lost the heartbeat and suddenly they were throwing scrubs to me as they rushed the table to an operating room for an emergency C section. My daughter was soon out, and both her and my (ex) wife were healthy. Then I sat down.

It'll all be good, man.

I was going to ask the same thing. If so, it's not uncommon for the first child to have to be coaxed a long.

Congrats on the boy.
My wife was three weeks past due withe our son. And they had to induce labor then. He was, and still is, healthy. That was twenty years ago. I hope you have as much fun with your son over the next twenty years as I have had with mine.
