Flight Attendant Uses Emergency Slide to Escape Dispute - City Room Blog - NYTimes.com

"The dramatic getaway was short-lived. The attendant, Steven Slater, 39, was arrested at his home not far away in Belle Harbor, Queens. He was charged with reckless endangerment and criminal mischief."

Was a bit over the top reaction...

I will bet $$ that the FAA goes after this guy in a big way, I also bet that they will try to fine JetBlue in some way.

Why didn't he just throw the passenger down the slide?

That would be worse since it would be considered assault.

Well, if he's going to get charged with something, it might as well be worth the effort.

I agree with that now he is just a wuss that lost it and ran away if he had tossed the unruly passenger out then he would have been in more trouble but perceived as much less of a wuss.

It's great that he grabbed two beers before escaping on the slide.

Imagine if he had to deal with this unruly customer... "No chicken nuggets? Seriously?"
