COD4 + Idiot talking smack = Arrested

This was apparently on Xbox Live version of COD4, I guess they keep detailed player information for just such an event. Makes me wonder how many people could be brought up on actual charges for the crap they say online Watch what you say guys, you aren't as anonymous as you think!

Good. I hope many people read this and it puts a damper on the immaturity of some people and the crap they can spew behind the anonymity of the Internet.

Playing the role of first person shooter? This is not an MMO. I think the media hears too much about WoW and other MMOs.

Yeah xbox live has detailed info for just that reason. But to the average gamer you could never get that info. But microsoft if needed (like in this case) can easily track you down. So no matter what game you play the info pretty much remains the same. I got suspended from live for giving them a fake phone number a few months back They said it was a tos violation to give fake info. needless to say they lifted it but i did have to provide my real phone number

There was also a case a few months back where a child was missing and the police had no leads (and presumed he was dead after be missing for a while). Until another kid saw his gamertag and they traced it. if i recall the story right.

But as i understand it. The xbox 360 does not even get a ip address until it connects successfully to the live server. So at that point they can see what gamer tag (user info used to register for that account) plus a specific ip addy.

Needless to say these are the good stories where it works out. There is tons of people who total disregard rules and say what ever they feel like or act like total jerks. But microsoft wont get involved for people just acting stupid, but if its a legal matter they will jump fast.

Now all they have to work on is racial slurs. Then this would be fun without having to worry bout you kids hearing bad language and just maybe... the world can trust each other again. Like back in the old days(before I was born of course). Where kids could stay out all day and not have to check in all they time and parents didn't have to give them a cell phone to make sure they can get a hold of them. People might all together learn to like people again...OMG...TRUST nation wide. Ok...this dramatization went way too far.

All in all, I hope they throw the book at this kid.

Suspend kids for DRAWING a gun during art class.
