How many texts do you youngsters send a month?

The article states the the average number is 3000. A while ago I had a guessing contest to see if someone could guess the amount of texts my stepdaughter had done and it was over 13,000. So I figured i woudl se what you guys are all doing.

Wow. With two teenage boys... it's ridicuous. I haven't looked at the bill in a while, I'll have to ask the wife.

We had to change our phone plan, because my sister sends over 700 easily. Her previous plan used to cover 50 . She speaks more than she talks though... over 1000 minutes to other MOBILE phones, let alone the fix ones.

I didn't use to send text messages or call people, I recieved them and wait until I'm home to answer through emails or on MSN, but now I have a data package in my phone so I just keep talking through e-mail AND msn with my friends. Sometimes text messages too, but it's rare.

Our plan is a family package where we share the benefits (but the internet, which is only MINE, MIIIINE). We had to. We had to pay over US$1k per month of over the plan fees with my sister, it was getting really frustrating.

I'm on a limited 300/month plan, but if I had unlimited I could probably do 1000 (including received messages) That's only ~15-20 sent texts per day, assuming people respond to most of the texts

My brothers used about 4500 each last time I talked to my mom.

I only use about 600, but I receive almost 10 alerts each day for things ranging from bank card usage to nfl mobile.

i make more calls than texts, but never break 75mins.

I have an unlimited messaging plan (as well as the majority of my friends) so I have no restraint when it comes to texting.

If you count both sending/receiving, I'm at about 5000. Though this might sound like a lot, I use very few minutes each month - I just prefer texting people instead of talking! I also don't just sit on my phone all day though, I am engaged in other activities and spend time doing other things too.

PJ that is a lot of texts I can't wait to get home and tell my stepdaughter. I just checked our current months usage, I have 40, my wife has 71 and my stepdaughter has 676. I'm not sure what date this started at.

In general I like texting, it comes in handy when all you need is a bit of information like when shopping and the wife wants to add something to the list.

Exactly! It is like leaving a short, concise voice mail without the hassle on either end.

I used to have texting back when we used Criket, and I think I only sent two, and got about 120 from someone who would constantly text me. I promptly got texting blocked from my phone, and quite honestly don't think I'll ever get a plan to replace. The only reason I ever would is because people always answer texts, but don't really answer phone calls.
