yeah.... that doesnt sound like all the reviews Ive read.
When I was looking for a new computer, Alienware customers said that people would be lucky to get the computer at the quality they ordered. One guy ordered $3,000 worth of Alienware gaming system, and he got the lowest one they sold, and they refused to even look into his order at all or refund his money

So, I guess thats what happens when compnaies get bought by Dell.

I got my alienware back about 5 years ago. I can't remeber exactly when but the big new resource hog at the time was Morrowind. The problem I had was that the fan on the power supply was damaged and the supply burned out in the 1st 5 minutes or so. They took it right back, replaced the power supply and I never had another problem with it. Maybe it's different now.

Customer reviews are always going to be about 100 times more likely to come from angry people than people who are happy with their order. Just like me, I'm pissed at IBUYPOWER so I'm telling everyone I can. Not only can I save someone the same headaches as me but maybe I can cost them a few thousand dollars in sales.

BTW, if you read the positive feedback on lots of review sites you kinda get the feeling it's just someone from the company trying to do some control. I saw one once where the same guy left tons of reviews for his shady company and spelled the same word wrong in every bogus review.

That's partially true, but not always. I personally left like 70 positive, detailed reviews for items I bought on Newegg and only few negative ones, I've also seen items (as well as some online stores) with like 90-95% of positive reviews.
And yea, some manufacturers/stores try to artificially boost reviews for their products/store, but it happens very rarely and sites like Reselleratings have special tools to detect such artificial boosts and they do remove such reviews from time to time (read the posts by Lara RR here: http://www.resellerratings.com/forum...hreadid=119781)

I wont go into all the details but I bought an Alienware laptop about 5 years ago and the customer support that I received was terrible. I don't know if they still have to same support since Dell purchased them.

I bought an Alienware about 4 years ago, and it sounds like I had similar experiences with them like everyone else here. I have vowed to never own one again... Hence I build my own.

I bought an Alienware about 3 years ago....had alot of problems with the customer service etc. The PC is working fine and has given me many hours of enjoyment but I will never again buy a PC from them.

My latest monster is from Cyberpower and it's a beast. I have had fast efficient service from Cyberpower and would reccomend them to friends.
