Just bought an Amsec TF5924 Gun Safe

Man that thing is heavy. A friend and I were able to move it into the house fairly easily. It has an electronic lock and is rated for 30 minutes at 1200 degrees. Pics to come..

Ok so I got this fairly organised. I highly recommended if your buying a gun safe buy one bigger than you think you need.

So heres a stock photo of the outside. (my crap phone camera had a bad pic)

and a couple of shots of the inside

I have a few things I need to do.

So from the factory you can order them with a nylon hanging organizer that hangs on the inside of the door. It usually holds pistols and mags and whatever else. I'm going to figure out how to make my own.

Secondly the light kit for the unit is 250.00$ I mean it's a door switch and some fluorescence lights. I went to home depot and bought some under cabinet/trophy display lights for 30 bucks. So I need to cut the end off of a power strip. Route the power cable through the hole. Reattach a male three prong plug. Hook in some type of door switch and mount some LED lights

Luckily for me the room it's in used to be an office with out a closet. It looks like when the previous owners installed the closet they covered over an outlet. I just need to hook up an outlet to the existing box and wires and I should be good to go

Nice setup, Mapes. Are there two rifles in there? You have a Rem 700, .308 with accuracy int stock, correct? Is there another?

Yeah it's my plinker a savage 93 HMR .17. The thing has twice the FPS of a standard .22 and is accurate out to a long range 800 yards......if theres no wind. The bullet is so light that it's easily moved by the wind. Although shooting it is really fun. It shoots like a laser...accurate silent and no recoil. After shooting the .308 its like is this thing on?

I had a 22-250, which is almost the same thing. No kick, instant kill for anything under 100 pounds.

I believe in recessed walls and total obscurement. But that's just me..

So, you have a safe inside the safe? Is there a third safe in the safe box? That would be awesome.

                    Thanks DB

The light on my HK USP is a Streamlight TLRs

The safe in a safe mr smarty pants is the smaller fire proof safe we started with. It holds all of our documents and has the raw digital images of our wedding etc. The amsec is rated for 1200 degrees for 30 minutes. I figured putting that other safe in there will make sure those documents last. Also in there are two drives with all of our digital stuff....music, pics, software and databases.

It cost almost 900 bucks. Weighs 400 LBS.
