Thanks, guys. This veteran really appreciates it. I just made this post on facebook:
What a fantastic Veteran's Day on facebook. I think about 80% of the information I've seen today in the News Feed was friends sharing videos of veterans, praying for our troops, posting pictures of thier veterans, posting their persoanlly loved veteran as their profile picture... AWESOME! I just want everyone to know that this veteran really appreciates the appreciation. Thanks my facebook friends!
I spent the afternoon with my Dad (retired Navy) at our local Veteran's Memorial and my Mom took us out to lunch. My daughter got to meet this guy, who has become a good friend of mine the past couple of months. Clyde Duggins, a WWII Normandy vet. He lost his left eye from sniper fire when storming the beaches at Normandy. I could talk to this hero forever! He's going on the Honor Flight next April. I love going to all the Honor Flights but this one is going to be extra special.

I second what Obi said. I had one of our vets I work with thank us today for being a vet and I just looked at him and that's funny, I felt like I should be the one thanking you for being a vet.
He is a 63 year old programmer and yes he's a Vietnam Vet. He hikes Colorado Trails in any weather and any altitude and long distances. I know of a 70+ miler he did this past summer Very awesome individual, the type I would vote for and wouldn't give a damn what political experience he has.

So true, DougBob. Today when I approached Clyde with my daughter he extended his hand to me and said, "Thank you for your service." WOW! This guy thanking me for my service. It really shows how selfless these true heroes are.
Sidenote: Clyde was the local elected Sheriff for several years after WWII. "...the type I would vote for and wouldn't give a damn what political experience he has."
