    Just got my new car!!

    Just got my new car!!

And this is also a mini-response to JohnyRico's post!! Always do research and ask questions!

I saved $12,000+ overall on my vehicle on the original offer the car dealership gave me.

SKIP TO BOTTOM IF YOU DON'T WANNA READ ALL THIS MONEY CRAP lol

    1) Original plan dealership wanted me on:

    a) 5,000 down b) Trade in my car c) pay-off my car

and my month to month payment would be ~491$

    2) 2nd plan (same night)

    a) 5,000 down b) trade in car c) pay-off car

350 a month..... already mass savings, but i still wasn't accepting that!!!

So i told them thanks and went home

2 days pass, and it's a rainy Sunday (yesterday)

I do more research, bring in my offer, show them my math and woot

I offered: Car is down payment, I pay off car

Ended up with $309 a month!!!

and a i payed off my vehicle through the dealer.

So the basic math is $5000(down) + $3700 (to pay off car) $491 a month for 5 years = $38,160

What i got My car as a down payment and $3700 to pay off my car:

    $3700 + 309 a month for 6 years = $25,948

THIS IS WHERE YOU WOULD SKIP TO IF YOU DIDN'T WANT TO SEE THE $ CRAP

I did hecka lotta research and it payed off

    So to answer your question.

My old car was an 07 Chevy Cobalt

My new car is a 2011 Chevy Equinox

Have a nice new SUV for the family (mainly the baby)!!!

p.s. everyone have a Merry Christmas!!!

Nice work + good reward for your efforts!

My favorite car buying bonus factoid: Even the "no haggling" dealers with non-negotiable prices are willing to lower their price to make a sale.

      Nice work.

I bought my car at CarMax just so I didn't have to negotiate. I'll probably have to wheel and deal for the next one.

            Yeah where is the pic?

It looks like you got a decent deal, it always pays to do you homework.

hehe, getting same response from people @ work and they get to see my calculation sheets. really it was just a lot of research, holding firm to my gameplan (whether it be my conduct at the dealership [yes i even had a plan for that] or my financial plan) and me setting the price for what i wanted.

The dealership probly thought... SWEET, a 23 y\o with no idea what he's doing.... except that he needs a new car. Welcome to p0002q's world dealership... have it my way or watch me go to the 90,000 other car places in the area...

I showed them that even though my price might be "Low" they would still make about 3K profit off the vehicle, as well as 4-6K profit off the Cobalt... so it was a win-win for me. I kinda feel bad for the people who just walk in and sign.... that is an epic difference from their base offer to what I got.

IMO, the dealership flips the owner\customer thing around.... It's like they try to make you feel like the owner and they are the customer (which is always right) ... i'm not fall'n for that wackness!

And i will try to get some pics, I wanted to, just been raining (NOW SNOWING) ever since i got the ride.

              p.s. I book write @ work

Wow. I don't know how to haggle. Mostly because I fear rejection lol. I'm 21 and have no credit whatsoever, so I'm guessing I'll have to fork out some serious bucks for a new car.

Nice ride! Now go to Walmart and get a set of those nice rubber floor mats that hold a bunch of water and sand to protect those new carpets from all thet melted road slime.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
