Best helmet ever. Seriously. Some people were taping glass bottles to their heads like he has done w/ the bread, so the rocks n such being thrown wont hurt as much. I think I would rather just have a rock hit my head than a rock hit my head and a bunch of shattered glass.

I want to know why the US is so involved in this. Every 5 minutes Obama makes a statement about the situation. Stay out of it, jeez.

It's not just the US. Europe wants change in Egypt too. It's just not as outspoken.

Just heard one protester quote Patrick Henry.

A large chunk of the crowd left Tahrir right after the speech, headed for the TV station and the palace. It could easily get ugly tonight.

The entire world has a stake in what happens in Egypt. Three major reasons:

                        1. Suez Canal. Who controls the canal controls the world economy. If it is shut down, it'll be a race between the U.S., the E.U., and Israel to get to the thing to reopen it by any means necessary. You think oil is expensive now? Watch what happens 2 days after the Suez closes.

                        2. A fundamentalist government in place in Egypt destablizes the entire Middle East. I should note that Egypt has over 1,000 M1A2 tanks. That's a very powerful force.

                        3. See 1 above.

                        -Rand
