    Working At Home?

Hey guys, I've been interested for awhile to find something online that I can make money at. It doesn't need to be alot and I'm honestly looking for something that offers training and has a little challenge in it. After taking that 7 hour application, it's really turned my brain onto challenges. I get tired of working at a gas station that offers little to no challenge at all.

I can learn anything. All it requires is time. I was wondering if anyone has come across any jobs that allow you to work at home. If so, please either PM me or reply to this thread.

    Thanks everyone. Later

    Scam Alert:

When considering any at-home job, put up the scam-detection radar.

watch for these positive indicators of "real" employment:

The hirer is an established company.
The ad includes the company name and does not have applicants reply to a blind e-mail address.
Human resources personnel are available for questions.
There is mention of information commonly associated with "real" employment (benefits, vacations, policies, etc.).
There is an application and interview process, not simply an e-mailed offer.
The employer can detail the job duties and expectations.
    References/work samples are requested.

    The sentence below is true.

Niles you mentioned before that you were interested in a tech job. Many tech jobs allow you to work from home.

Personally I'd rather not work from home for two reasons. 1. I'd play video games all day and get nothing done. 2. I want a strict separation between work and home. When I'm home I don't even want to think about work. Although I do call into two early morning developer meetings but, I'm in my PJs sipping coffee so thats ok.

Also your can do attitude about learning stuff is a great thing. Most protocols are based on open standards and can be figured out just by reading. Half the time at work I'm tasked with testing a new feature in an up coming release. Usually it's something I've never tested before. Which requires tons of reading to figure out how to test it. How it works, how it's not supposed to work, how could a user shoot themselves in the foot...

If your interested in tech I'd recommend getting a Linux box setup and playing around with it and maybe learning shell scripting or an interpreted programing language Perl, Python and Ruby for example (run away from TCL).

So basically if I want a work at home job I need to become a programmer of some sort. I thought about web design, but my creativity is limited. I'm just not an artist.

I need to think about other programming careers. I need to get into school for something, but not sure what to do with it just yet.

I actually do very little programing. Since I'm in QA I just have to be able to understand how a protocol works or at least how to try and break our implementation of it. I do do some bash shell scripting to automate some testing however I'm pretty sure most Linux savvy teenagers these days could kick my ass at it
