I'll be at the U.S. Open in Congressional for the next four days. I'm not the biggest golf fan, but I still would love to learn to play, get some clubs, and go at it. Anyway, I'm in this for the experience, since they don't come to DC very often.
Before you all ask: yes, this post will remain useless (without pics). Those guys lock that place down tighter than a White House tour. No cameras, nothing that can possibly make noise (no iPod, no celly), no bags larger than about "Dork Fanny Pack" size), and absolutely no food or drink.
The biggest irony? They're hyper-proud of their U.S. Open app for iOS and Android, and not a single spectator on site can use the thing.
The biggest annoyance? Driving to a parking area 20 miles away and being bussed in and out. Around DC's Beltway, home of the 2nd worst congestion in the country. That's joy incarnate.
