This is, unfortunately, one of the least surprising news stories possible.

Not surprising, always sad to see people go though.

And not a single care was given by myself. She was given more chances than most people to get herself sorted but refused/shunned it time and time again.

I feel sorry for her family and friends. Not for her.

Sorry if this sounds a little harsh.

I imagine Pete Doherty will be next, and again i will not care.

Always a sad day when someone so young dies

In all honesty I don't think I ever heard a single song of hers but I HAVE been bombarded with rehab stories about her for years. Sorry for her and her family. Now comes the part where the media makes her into some once in a lifetime talent and a great loss for humanity.

Maybe she should have said yes, yes, yes to rehab...

Good observation, Johny. Like that Nirvana guy... Kurt Cobain? Not sure on the spelling.

I remember reading an Op/Ed about Kurt's death. The writer wrote about how Kurt was on the front page of the newspaper, glorified... And in a couple of paragraphs in the Obituary section of the same paper, a WWII Veteran had died the same day. The WWII Veteran put him self though school after the war and became a doctor... married for 40+ years, put all his children through college... retired and then joined the Peace Corps in his retirement to lend his physician skills to that organization. Who deserved to be glorified? ... was the writers message.

Fame leads to a different strata of focus when one passes, re: the discussion of Cobain. Not to detract from any WWII vet by any means, but the truth of Cobain was that he was simply gifted when it comes to musical talent. I often wonder what we missed out on following his suicide.

Winehouse? I lean toward Juneau. She had a gifted voice, but way too many chances blown.

The most bizarre coincidence though is the age of death of Winehouse, Cobain, Hendrix, Morrison, and Joplin--all 27, all tremendously talented.

The official cause of death listed for Morrison was a Heart Attack. There was no autopsy performed.
