I just went into the bathroom and was in the process of stepping up to the plate. I thought at first it was someone who REALLY had to go shaking the door. Took a few moments to realize what it was, so I zipped up and went outside.
I've never been in an earthquake before, but the ground was moving pretty good and I knew what it was pretty quickly. The only other possibility was a nuke, so the first thing I did outside was head to where I could see toward DC just in case.
It was only later when I realized that an asteriod strike would feel about the same.
They let us all go home about 25 minutes ago. Except those who left stuff they needed (e.g. keys) inside our buildings. Those folks couldn't go inside until the buildings are inspected. Who knows how long that'll be.

i've had this happen to me like maybe 4x in my life.. last year and a couple years back when Los Angeles had some really bad earthquakes.. always happen at the most worst times..
