$1.99 on Steam right now and you can get the expansions really cheap also. This was a really good game with alot of strategy built in with the lovely sound of automatic weapons fire. It plays very much like the Warhammer 40k games with control points gaining you supplies and such. It's a few years old so will run on most any system.

I _STILL_ play this game darn near every day. I have both the Steam versions of all CoH games plus I bought the retail versions of all three as well.

I actually considered buying a few more copies at this price so that I had some for friends.

they have the "complete pack" for $9.99. Worth it, then? Is it straight out war/rts (like capture pts, bring in troops, etc.) or does it have some missions where you have to sneak in and piddle around a bit?

It's very, very good--probably the best RTS I've ever played. You can play it any way you want, with sneaking in or all-out rushes. A few missions are timed, but with the others you can play around a bit more.

Skud, like Rand already said - its exceptionally good, and the best RTS game I have ever played. I love the variety to the game. You can hold a huge amount of territory with just an anti-tank gun and a pair of snipers (my favorite strategy).

The game offers a 'Skirmish' mode against the CPU, and I usually play German and go with a defensive doctrine (can't beat those lethal 88s) or American and go with the Paratrooper doctrine.

Every attack has an equal counterattack as well, so no one strategy will work all the time based on what your opponent selects.

I played it for about 2 hours. It was good, but it was no Red Alert 2. However at 2 bucks? Definitely worth it. A dollar an hour.

I also believe it is the best RTS I've ever played. What makes it so different from other RTS' is how resources are "gathered" and how your troops aren't "dumb".

Gathering resources involves capturing resource points (fuel, ammo). Every resource point you keep, generates extra resources. You don't have people "working" these resources, you automatically get them if you own the resource point.

The troops are smarter, because if they're fired on, they fire back and take cover. It's pretty cool.

I need to reinstall this RTS. It's definitely worth $10.
