I've looked at the model you are talking about Mapes.

I'm Almost 5"11', but the taller bike seats give me fits. I know that
once the shocks are broken in a little, that it will lower the heigth
    appreciably. At 175 pounds, am I too heavy for a 125 ?
    Just sounding off.

I was talking more about for your son. If he grows more you could always swap the rims. I do know of a few adult riders that are very skilled riding TTRs mostly for flat track stuff... but...I like a bit more power and suspension myself.

the old man likes riding the 125 kawasaki i have. Hes 215 lbs. it carrieshim pretty well. Even if it doesn't you could always trick it to about the same power of a 200 or 400 if you have the money and are willing to do the work.

Nahhh... All those special pipes, ports, dodads and whatnots, just
raises the cost too much. Stresses everything.

yeah, get the TT 125 for the boy, and can change rims later. Works for ME

Just have to find one that fits the old man here.
          Probably a +250 ish...

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
