    Israel

I may be going to Israel for work in early Dec., probably for about a week. Have any of you been to Israel? Is the area around Tel Aviv safe? Do I need to worry about bombings, etc.?

Most of the houses come with bomb shelters built in.

Where do you put the Bayonet?

I have friends that have lived and know people who live in Tel Aviv and the surrounding area. I will ask them and get some info for you.

No biggie. I'm only going to be there for 1 - 2 weeks.

You'll be fine. Tel Aviv from what I saw was a pretty kewl city. You don't have to worry about bombings or anything. It's probably about the same probability as NY or DC. The cities in Israel are safe and the Israeli people are pretty kewl.

I loved the entire time I was there. You'll be fine, but I will give you one recommendation. As anywhere in the middle east, just be vigilant and be aware of your surroundings.

Oh one other item for the airport screening. When you go thru the airport mostly when leaving. Be respectful, honest and answer their questions accurately. I know you won't but don't get huffy with them or act impatient. As in the states give your self plenty of time when leaving.

They'll ask you a bunch of questions, but keep in mind they're not looking for hazardous items you're carrying as much as they are evaluating what kind of person you are.

I didn't have the problem, but if you have electronics and they act like their are going to keep a phone or laptop, just act like it's not a problem and you'll do anything to help them. Usually from my experience and what our team members experienced you won't have to worry about it.

The guys on our team that got huffy or impatient got all their laptops and phone confiscated. If this happens, DO NOT argue or be belligerent. If it happens they will ship the item on a following flight and you receive them within a week or so. Of course you'll want to sanitize anything on them before you go to Israel. We have pretty good probable cause to suspect everything is copied and analyzed when confiscated.

good luck and have some fun.

Good but weird memory about an isralie.
I was in Amsterdam in a hostel. Sleeping on the bottom bunk in a group of 4 bunk beds. I woke up to a very pretty girl running her fingers through my hair(I had long hair at the time) and reading something with hebrew writing. I looked up and saw her.. then put my head back down and she kept go putting her fingers through my hair.

Felt great. Never did get her name as the bells went off for everyone to get out in 30 mins.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
