considering the fact that i am a freshman, it would be a relief if homework was stopped, but i feel that i need it...

i have a serious issue with time management, and procrastinating that i am trying to fix, and i feel that homework gives me motivation to work on something, if you know what i mean...

It tells me something when there is an assignment, and a deadline, and
they "Forgot" or always had something more important (I.E. More Fun)
        to do than the assignment.

Before they cut out homework, IF the parent gets wind of the due date,
and knows it hasn't been done, then the 3 pronged pitch fork comes out.

Those that completed the assignments or projects on time
and put some work into it, should be applauded and given some kind of
attagirl/boy to keep them going and motivated.

Without any assignments, projects, due dates, there ISN'T any incentive
to participate or exceed as much. Work and study habits last long after
        the initial introduction to them.

Guess what, I have assignments, projects, and due dates constantly where
I work. A chewing out is the LEAST I would get if not done. What most
        likely happens is either:

1: A lower or no raise if Due Dated work is consistently missed.
(Important high visible work due date missed, it could be all they need)
2: An actual cut in PAY could be possible in some businesses, or demotion
3: You get FIRED or Layed off because you were expendible.
4: You don't want to be the low man/woman on the totem pole when the
Work force adjustment (Layoff's) possibly hits your shop.

So what is being taught directly relates to many facets of business.
It isn't just "Punishment", or the teacher is MEAN.
They are teaching habits that should last a lifetime,
        or SHOULD be teaching them.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
