I could never focus on anything longer than 15 minutes at a time unless I was intensely interested in the subject. So I learned to break off and let the mind go to a neutral corner for a while before jumping back in. I guess I had mild ADD and diidn't know it.

That's crazy that you don't get a job doing what you went to school for. At the moment I'm going to college to become an IT, but we'll see how that goes. I've still got a couple more years before I can say what I'm going to specialize in. There is so much that I want to do. I definitely don't want some random 9-5 job doing the same thing over and over again.

I need a job that will challenge me and make me learn new things everyday. Once I learn it all at one job I end up leaving. I haven't left fast food yet because I haven't learned everything there. Drive thru, grill operator, cashier... Those are just a few that I've learned. The only thing left really is learning to make sandwiches fast, but I don't think I want to do that quite yet lol
I did use my schooling for about 8 years. I still use it in many ways just not directly related to cooking. Alot of times college is about learning how to think not nessarily using that information in the future.

If you want to learn more about food take a job as a prep cook in the best restaurant you can get your foot in the door. At least you learn some knife skills that will help you over the length of your life. I do miss butchering though, if I had my own garage/outdoor area I would be doing free lance butchering for deer hunters.

Oh yea DON'T BURN YOURSELF OUT... have fun

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
