guys,
I'm a salesman for a marine electrical distributor in New Orleans. We are also a large Sylvania distributor. If anybody needs any help pricing out some LED's of Compact fluorescents I might be able to help.
Only thing with the Led's i usually need to by pack quantities, they come in packs of 6 or 4 usually.

Thank you.
They may have had Halogens inside the upper edge, of the showcases, shining down on the jewelry.

If money isn't an issue, i would go with name brand LED's. Such as Sylvania, Phillips or GE. Generic brands have worse color quality in the lighting and it shows.
Also, if you would like dimming options, LED's are dimmable now. Well the ones that are set for dimming I mean.

CFL color - It's different than incandescent. A few years ago CFLs got banned from our bathroom because they tuned my wife's peach color scheme into pink.
More recently they offer several different shades to choose from. Maybe you could try one of the "daylight" ones (color temp 5000-5500K).
Warm up time - CFLs are a good morning wake-up bulb because they start gently.

I like the 6500K and up tubes. The 3500K are just ugly and I hate that they are trying to reproduce the yellow effect of incandescent bulbs.
I've started replacing the CFLs in the house with LED and messed up with a few at the 3500K range.
As far as the question about heat from incandescent! The heat generated by them is so minimum if you notice any difference in heating cost it would be in the cents.
On the how long the CFLs last, they don't last anywhere as long as they should or originally did. They have started making the MTBF way lower than when they first come out.
As far as I know the LED market hasn't been corrupted by the manufacturing factor yet, but I could be wrong.
