    23 mile skydive

An Austrian adventurer planning the highest skydive in history has announced that he will make the record attempt later this year.

Felix Baumgartner will jump from a balloon 36.5km (120,000ft) up, where a leak in his pressurised suit could lead to a rapid loss of consciousness.

He will fall so fast that he becomes the first person to go faster than the speed of sound unaided by a machine.

Many have sought to achieve the feat down the decades but all have failed.

If he crashes, how deep will the crater be?

Kittinger is also on Baumgartner's team. I guess if you wanna learn from the best, he's the guy to go to.

Amazing that Kittinger did this in August, 1960 and no one has been able to match it since. Glad that Joe is on Baumgartner's team to assist in the prep for this jump. That video is just amazing to watch ... I watched it years ago but it's still worth another look.

Technically, space begins at 63 miles up, but who am I to nitpick ?

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
