EA tries to buy Valve - Gabe laughs

EA put a 1 billion offer on the table for Gable to think about. It didn't take long for him to decide. Despite the billion dollar offer, Newell said Valve would prefer to "disintegrate" than ever sell out.

Though I had no idea Gabe or Valve were worth quite that much. I could have guessed Valve was worth more than a billion based on Steam, but 3 billion? Nice.

If I was Gabe, I would be pissed. EA bought PopCaps (of all things) almost 1.3 billion but they offered me 1 billion? Yet Forbes estimated the firm's value at $3 billion?
