    Our Southern upbrining shows...

It became overly apparent to me that we've been brought up in the south...

We looked outside, and lo and behold, there's snow on the ground! Now, please understand, Kenshin and I have never even seen snow in our life. And, though it's not much, I'm tempted to go out at 8:30PM and throw some snowballs (small ones, but snowballs nonetheless!) around the parking lot.

No camera available, except for the cell phones, and I think I'm about to take enough pictures for a mini-documentary. I know, I've been told the snow becomes a bore when you're shoveling it, but it's going to have to get to that point before I realize that.

We just went and snapped some shots with our cell phones.

There was a good amount of it on the ground and vehicles. I packed a few snowballs (more like Iceballs ) and threw some around. It was quite satisfying. They were a tad hard to be throwing at people, though.

They may even cancel work tomorrow, although the snow will all be gone by then. According to the weather reports, though, we've got a high chance for frozen roads, and no one around here knows anything about driving on snow/ice.

Stay out of your cars... I have seen so many accidents involving you southern people while up north during the winter. It is one of those things, you can do it or you can't.

And it gets very tiring after a while... But glad you guys got to see some.

Oh, I have no plans on getting it in now.

On that subject, though, as Tails and I were going outside, someone was leaving the parking lot. He seemed to be having a rather difficult time just backing up due to the traction. I'm really hoping he just drove further down in the complex to another apartment and didn't get on the road, much less the interstate.

It can drizzle down here and people will some how lose traction, power slide, and wipe out 5 lanes of traffic. It's just that special gift around this area.

A little bit and no traction... Yeah somebody should stay home cause they are gas heavy.

From what I have heard, they use different chemicals in the pavement down south that cause the road to get "greasy" when it rains. I have never been below Pennsylvania and Delaware so I don't know if that is true or not. But we have a lot of people up here that go South for the winter that have said things along those lines.

I live about 15 miles from Tails and Kenshin, I dread the one or two 'wintery mix' storms we get a year. I moved from New Hampshire for a reason! My classes were canceled tonight because of the dusting

And yes Southern people are not experienced snow drivers. (Yes you Mr. 35 MPH on the highway with your hazard lights on when the temperature was 35 and snow was immediately melting upon contact with the road! )

First time snow, special times, Fun Fun Fun.

I've spent many a day snow skiing in Colorado/NM...

It is the OTHER people that scare me here in Texas.

Why do people brake at the BOTTOM of a hill that is covered in
snow or a little ice. Or better yet, brake near the top of the hill, and
everyone behind them wipes out because of your idiot braking.. lol

Or waits to pull out into the street in front of you
until you are almost on them.

Yep, I dislike southerners when it is a little slick.
And I ARE ONE, just been there and seen that and done that.

Eh, I don't think I can transfer my phone's pics onto the computer. Of course, I've never tried, but I don't see a USB port or anything like that on it. Though I'll admit I just use my cell phone to talk, so if there's a way...how I does it?

There's a chance for more snow Saturday! If there's a fair amount of snow (and we can get a camera / transfer phone pics) perhaps you'll see some familiar faces doing some dumb stuff.

Snow is fun no matter what. I'm a college student and I'm not ashamed to admit that I still play in the snow. I have never had to worry about shoveling my driveway. I live on a farm, so our driveway was too long for that anyway. Instead, we used our front loader tractor to clear it. Believe it or not that is fun even if it is cold. I have noticed that it is not just southern drivers that have problems driving in the snow. I come from a small town about an hour south of Chicago, and once I get into the larger towns like Joliet or even into Chicago, the people lose their brains. They drive way too fast and swerve and cut people off and tailgate. Don't worry about the driving in the snow, just take it a little slow and leave lots of room and you will be fine.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
