I was sitting there installing software in the lab at school and I looked down on the floor in the corner of the room, last PC in that row and saw this lil black box ... maybe the size of a jewelry box. I thought .. WTH, someone left this lil cardboard box lying there.
So I put my foot on it to slip it out from under the desk that was over it and immediately realized it was not cardboard !! I saw the name on the back ... ZUNE ... and thought .. holy crap ... some kid lost their ZUNE !!
I powered it up and toyed around, looking for ID, and this kid had pt his pic proudly as the background, so it was easy to ID him as a football player, even down to the number, so I took iy to the office.
The secretary called his Mom (we only had a half day of school today .. in-service training) and explained where it was found and by whom, and then told me the kid had lost it Wednesday and the office had told him it was probably stolen. He is going to be one very relieved kid when Mom passes along the news. I'm sure he didn't buy it, but at least I found it first, rather than another student.
Cool lil toy ... I hardly have a use for it, but ... geez, kids have some sweet gadgets these days. When I was a kid, I had Army men and Tinker Toys. My lucky cousin had penny sticks, so we'd have these military skirmishes and demolish tanks and bunkers with his 'shaped charges' .. haha, those were the days !!! Now its all electronics ....
