I never liked AoTS as a show, altho the eye candy was always appealing. For our older representatives, you may remember Leo LaPorte and Patrick Norton who hosted the TechTV show 'The Screensavers' ... its appeal was only for the geekiest of the geeks, but it truly was an informative and well done show (with no eye candy, but that's life, dude).

I don't like my tech news coming from these types of girls. So stereotypical. I like an average looking guy talking about something he knows than some blonde bimbo with giant knockers pretending to care about playing the latest Assassins Creed and reading someone else's opinion off a teleprompter.

THIS!.... I got my wife into Attack of the Show when we started dating but always told her of the days of high adventure with Leo and Patrick (and then the original Kevin, Kevin Rose). We were eating a late dinner last night and I got up and sat in front of the TV in shock and awe that they did the Dallas-style 'it was all a dream' and brought those guys back. And everything they mentioned about how the show changed (for the worse) through all the transitions was what I had told her all along...

I was like 13-14 when that show first aired in 98, and had just been getting into the internal workings of computers. Up until then I knew how to play games on them but not the inner workings of the OS, as well as the hardware. I actually overclocked my first CPU at like 2AM with a rerun of theirs playing in the background. I remember it vividly because I watched the sun rise that morning. Really glad to hear someone else get the 'joke at the end' and remember their heyday. I can honestly say I would not have followed the life choices, career choices, or met my wife without the motivation of that show to get me immersed in all things computing.

I don't watch a lot of tv to begin with but I got entertained by both of these shows. I have no idea how AOTS survived as long as it did. It was a good bonding moment for my daughter and I as we watched it every day. After a lousy day at work her and I would sit together and watch it on the couch and laugh. My wife hated it though lol. I'll miss it. I liked the celebrity interviews. They had some great skits too, Office Jesus, The Red Ring of Death song. Compared to every thing else out there it was different. It didn't take it self too seriously.

I think it went down hill when they wanted to interview people and be serious. James Cameron did 2 good interviews but they still made it fun. I think they had him beat up a zombie cutout with a folding chair.

The other show which did the game reviews will be going away as well.

Yeah, basically the entire show is being re-branded... So technically everything is going away... But I think those 2 shows were the only original content they had, everything else was COPS reruns and Campus PD... The latter of the 2 was actually pretty fun to have on in the background as the people on it are just as much of a stupid mess as those on cops, except they are young attractive people that haven't been ravaged by life (meth) yet. My favorite was the drunk girl walking in the road wearing a sign that said 'It's my 20th birthday'. Clever.

That being said anyone watching king of the nerds?
There are some hot girls on there.

For anyone that followed the ORIGINAL screensavers with Leo and Kate (replaced by Patrick after a while), I was able to meet them at a local Staples maybe 15 years ago and had them sign a TechTV poster they were handing out at the event. Two very down to earth geeks who knew a good bit about PCs and could present it to the common user in an understandable format.

I probably tossed the thing over a move a few years back but wish I would have kept it now.
