Police helicopter crashes into Glasgow pub

Happened a few hours ago. No word of anything yet apart from 3 people were in the helicopter and roughly 120 in the pub, but the scene looks like carnage. Looks like the entire fuselage has gone through the roof of the single storey building, leaving only the rotors above.

One confirmed dead so far. They expect others. I hope they are wrong.

Local news now saying 3 death, but police only confirming 1...
Even 1 is too many, hopefully the 3 is a rumor.

They still dunno why it fell, but they know all the engine safty stuff like fuel etc was enabled.
If the pilot never turned off the fuel it would have been a fire ball they where dealing with lastnight.

A fire would have been catastrophic. So we're lucky in that retrospect.

34 injured, the 3 crew died, and 5 patrons of the pub too... Thoughts with those effected.

No indication to what happened, so its over to investigation, know that will take forever.

Is that the final numbers or are we to expect more?

I read on OcUK that the type of Helicopter doesn't have a great track record when it comes to faults. Not sure if this is true or not.

Ec-135? The police heli is ran by bond who dont have one either its fair to say.
They reckon it was a dual engine failure, but not offically saying that.
If one fails the heli can fly on one but a dual fail is rare, they say.

As far as i know thats the final numbers, crews are securing the building so i suspect so.

Odd to think that thing flies missions multiple timrs daily, i seen it over head at home often.

                  32 injured, 14 serious...
Yup the text changed since i read it, someone must have typod.

What is a bit worrying is the air ambulance, same depot, same heli type i think, same company...
Wonder if they will pull it from op, it serves the entire sw coast

Yeah I believe that's the one.

Had it just left the base? Because if it did it really didn't get very far at all.

Reports of people saying it just dropped like a brick stright down, so hard to guess.
ive not heard if it was leaving for an op or not, yet.

If anything id say the pilot was trying to get the river, if he had control of some form.

"What we know is from the eyewitness accounts that the aircraft landed on the roof almost vertically. From what we've seen earlier on, the rotor blades were not turning.

"If they were turning at all, they were turning very slowly which indicates some kind of catastrophic failure in the drive train or the engine system."

They said somewhere there was no fire. Something about a button the pilot might have pushed to keep the fuel from igniting

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
