Epic Games announcing something Unreal Tournament related next week

Now I have a hankering (my Apache word of the day !!) for some 'Gauntlet' 16 player CTF !!

So fun...! I do miss some good CTF action...

Please, please Epic Games return to your pc gaming roots with your amazing arsenal of weapons and vehicle combat that made you the king of arena and twitch FPS games!

They have already ticked off the console crowd by announcing (at this point) only for Windows, Mac and Linux. I still have Unreal, UT99 and UT2k4 on my system; but I deleted UT3.

Well, I've been playing the pre alpha builds of this and it's coming along nicely. New builds are released every Thursday and there's a twitch stream every Wednesday from Epic HQ on the unreal tournament twitch channel with information and updates about progress on the game, these streams are also uploaded to the Unreal Tournament Youtube channel if you can't make the stream.

Same here. I'm very much looking forward to this! I haven't done any serious fragging in a long while.

The few livestreams I've watched were also really nice; being able to see the progress they're making, the level of involvement the community has in making this game and how they're putting everything together.

2142 was really the only one I could get into, I want to blame the 'ranking system' but tbh its not all its fault.
my roots are UT and well it comes down to that really, nothing just now is giving me that thrill 2k4 did.

By the time UT3 was released, I felt that their priority had shifted to the game engine. So, maybe the engine was done.

During yesterday's stream, while talking about hubs, they mentioned Cain's Lair several times as being one of the popular servers of past UT iterations.

Very nice that Cain's is specifically mentioned a couple of times. Some of Dr. Sin/Joe Wilcox's theoretical "programmer" art for the "Hub". Cain's is listed first.
