Star Wars Battlefront, to save the Battlefield franchise, may not be much of a savior

I saw this YouTube video of two commentators paraphrasing data submitted by a market research company, I believe, that Star Wars Battlefront may not be the savior for the Battlefield series (since it is EA).

Considering the decline of sales from Battlefield 4 to "Hardline", when the creators made "Battlefront" they were pinning their hopes on increased sales to recover from the previous two games lack of sales.

The biggest problem is they are breaking up their fan base with too many games. I played a little last night and had fun with apache and tex.

I never thought of battlefront as anything other then a new game.. though it may use some of the models from Battlefield. Hardline was just bad.

wahoo.. maybe we can get a team going. Not sure if there is Voip though. There is a good toutorial I watched on how the card system worked. I can try to find it if you want.

Teamspeak is probably be our only voip option at this point (maybe forever), since there aren't squads in this game. There are a ton of free teamspeak servers, but I've never used them.

Don't know anything about the card system.

This I think is what I watched. You can choose items kinda like CS. You then have only so many uses for the jet pack and shield and have to purchase more uses. You get money at the end of rounds it seems and you have to purchase your upgraded weapons. Some are permanent.

So far, I think this game isn't designed for squads. You can join the same game on Origin friends, and you can invite a few friends into your party, but you can only partner (spawn & share unlocks) with one other player at a time.

It's not a Battlefield game, but it might be fun as something new. tbd

The problem is you have to start out with friends in a group first and set it up before you go into the game.

They did make the flying alot better then alpha. Of course there is no room to run when they are coming in for you.


Being a hero character is fun .. just cut through people with the light saber. For the rebels it spawns in the middle of one of the ice passages.
