Early next month, I'll be starting the police academy for the department that I have been working for for the last several years (as a civilian) and while I'll have access to my computer (it's a day academy, and lasts 4 months, and then field training is an additional 4 months), I can't see myself having much time to game. Thus, I want to say that it's been a blast gaming with all of you, and that this isn't goodbye, it's I'll see you all soon.

I was supposed to start the Academy in February of 2008, also, but the position I assumed as a hospital supervisor turned out to be the better option. I was supposed to start February 24th and already had a position held for me on the S.W.A.T. team. Since I make more now than I would have been making, I decided to stay where I am but I am envious because I was anxious to get into the criminal justice field.

I hope you're in shape because you are going to be doing a LOT of running, especially when someone in the class screws up and makes the whole class have to run laps.... Sometimes carrying their books and their chair from the classroom. LOL. It will definitely be an experience. DO NOT go out and purchase 'cross trainer' tennis shoes. You will want to specifically purchase a pair of BLACK running shoes.. no other kind but "RUNNING SHOES". Trust me!

Anyways, I'm sure you'll be able to get back on and spend time with us once you get going in the academy.

Good luck to you and don't sweat it.. don't let it get the best of you and drop out. Keep at it.

At the SO I used to work at, part of the taser training for new deputies was that they had to be shot with one. This was videotaped for each deputy. Make sure you get a copy of yours and post it here.
