It's that time of year again here in the US of A. I sincerely hope everyone has a safe, happy and fruitful Thanksgiving holiday. Be careful traveling if you are. Think of those less fortunate than us. And remember it is the little things that make life worthwhile.
This year I am trying to do something a bit different with friends, meal wise. Though some of the others involved are somewhat slipping back to more current traditional items for other guests who might not be so adventurous (smoked turkey, pies, etc). Instead of turkey, dressing and sweet potatoes, we are having venison, duck and pheasant (in link sausage form), shellfish that were available to the Pilgrims (clams & lobster) along with sides like succotash, wild rice, wild onions, squashes and beans. The general rule is, if an item was available then we can use it and then gussy it up.
