they are going to sign next week but they will start their jobs before : ) still have to wait 2 months or so but worth the wait..

It's not officially over yet. The writers have to vote and ratify the agreement tomorrow first.

Some shows won't be (or shouldn't be) coming back this season, Heroes among them. Tim Kring thinks they can only finish 3 more episodes this year, and that's not worth it for them from a creative standpoint to continue. That being said, networks aren't usually the most understanding of entities, so they may be forced to continue. If Fox has any sense, they'll let 24 do whatever it needs to do. Trying to bring that back without 24 episodes would be stupid.
