Here come a bunch of pictures, as I'm not sure everyone knows the names of what I am posting.

Ah...Killer Instinct. I loved Orchid with her mono boob. hehe
I prefered the Mortal Kombat series though.

First console was like Rand, an Intellivision

Games I remember on there were Football, Tron and NightStalker

I also had an Apple IIe computer where I first played my computer games

Played some Karateka and some Epic Winter and Summer Games. Yes, it had a monochrome green and black screen. THAT is old school ROFL.

I then moved on the NES, SNES, Genesis, Dreamcast and such I think we all know those consoles. Although here is the TRUE old school Mario from the NES days

In the arcades, I remember playing Gauntlet (first 4 player game), Operation Wolf (gun game with an Uzi), Double Dragon. There were older ones, but those are the ones I remember.

I lived in arcades for many many years, I loved those places. Sadly, not many left around these days with consoles.

On the PC, I remember being on BBS and playing some text based games like Trade Wars 2002 and LORD

I then moved into Ultima Online in 1997 (first MMO as we know today). That got me hooked on MMOS.

And then UT in 1999 is what got my hooked on online FPS games.
No need to prints of this one, I think most of us know it.
[this is where my funky sig would go. But I don't have one.
So all you get is this crappy text]

I worked in a pub when I was at college so I played asteroids and space invaders on free play. I tried the free beer but just kept falling down

Twinky I had a set up similar to that growing up. I don't think it was Mac though, Windows 311 I believe :P Took those freaking huge discs. I actually think we might still have that rig in the attic

I grew up on Wolfenstien 3D, Heritec, Hexen, Doom (Codenamed: The Chainsaw Game by my brother and I), and Bart's House of Weirdness. All of which are on my current computer

Killer Instinct! Did anybody play this? Took forever to master that 48 hit combo. For those who don't know of this game.

The console version was really dumbed down. I played the arcade version a few times but it ends up costing a lot of money.... and i couldn't afford to buy the arcade machine.

You probably can buy the arcade version now. I've been playing around every now and then with arcade buy/sell/trade sites, and some machines are surprisingly inexpensive if you go to the right sources. I hope some of the old classics still work when I have a house big enough for machines, because I want a basement arcade some day. I HAVE to have one of those table pac-man or ms. pac-man machines.

But, make sure you can get parts inexpensively. Contacts on buttons and joysticks were always high maintenance items. Having an arcade game that always breaks down is no fun.

I didn't spend much time in arcades growing up, and we never owned a console gaming system. But we DID have countless games for our Commodore 64. (Way too many to count) I have to say that, low graphics res and all, some of those games were (and still are) some of the most playable out there.

Lmao I remember that game. "One of your travelers is injured from an accidental gun shot"
