Wolfenstein 3D. Then Doom, Hexen, Quake, Rise of the Triad, Quake 2, etc etc etc.

Before them all was the grandaddy of the first person game, Ultima Underworld. Years before its time.

What FPS were you playing on Genesis? and why sigh about it?

never played an FPS on the Genesis. Not even sure if there is any. Sonic, boxing, Streetfighter etc.

Mine was Black Hawk Down. Hubby had started in the Delta Force series and had moved on. The Delta Force stuff didn't seem interesting but the BHD did.

Well, I don't know if this counts as a true FPS, but Duck Hunt on the Nintendo something... I don't even remember the name of the console. It was on a combo cartridge with Super Mario Bros. Anyway, I loved watching my dad shoot the dog.... and I vaguely remember actually doing some of the shooting.

Then, it was GoldenEye on N64, then C&C Renegade, then Star Wars Battlefront I, II, CoD2.
          Then Bf2142, Crysis, CoD4...

We rocked at Goldeneye because most of us hadn't played PC FPS shooters by then, and didn't know how kick-butt the keyboard/mouse combo is.

This is a particularly timely topic. I was at my alma-mater of U of Maryland College Park last night for a meeting, and was thinking of just how much I miss the days of 4-player Goldeneye on the big screen in our group lounge.

I was one of the first players in NYC with the Sega CD !!
w00t !! I was king of the hill with my single speed CD Player and Echo The Dolphin !!

But I must say that shooting game with the " Blue Gun " had the nicest feeling weapon to date !

                First On-Line FPS = UT2K4
First Server Played = Cains Lair.

God, first FPS game was probably the original Doom or Wolfenstein, which I couldn't say for sure. First online FPS was counterstrike I believe...back when it wasn't made/sold by Valve. I think it was the beta of Day of Defeat that was probably my second online FPS. Both followed up closely by the original Tribes and then Tribes 2.

I think i went to a LAN center for a birthday party a few years ago, and played 1.6 or something. That got me hooked.

My first online FPS was Battlefield 2 and one of the first servers I played on was Cain's Lair. It didn't take long to get addicted.

                          I've been here ever since.

Goldeneye in second grade. That game is still second in awesomeness only to my skill in that game. The first computer game I ever touched that was an FPS besides a wolfenstein 3d demo was BF2. Kinda sad, but my mom has always been a Mac fan.

I played the Quake series and really enjoyed it. Then when hubbs started working at Red Hat he found there were a lot of guys there that enjoyed CS:S. They had LAN parties and needed someone on their team so I jumped in. That was the beginning of my addiction.

First FPS was Doom. Get this... I had it for the 32x. If you even know what this is, you're awesome.

I had the Sega Genesis 32x. It was really kinda stupid. I think there were 10 games that ever came out for it, before it tanked. Thing is, it cost like 150 bucks, so that was poop.

I fell in love with Doom. I still love Doom. I wish I coulda played multiplayer when it was a big deal.

Since Doom, I've been a huge fan of FPS', and I love hearing my friends say they get dizzy or motion-sickness from them

As I've mentioned before, my first online FPS was Battlefield 2 for PS2, which was fun, but sucked. I stayed for the game, hated the people :P

Then I got COD4, since all my friends at my job (Target - Electronics) were playing it on their Xboxes. I didn't have a 360, so I just bought the PC version since I just within the last few months have really gotten my computer to a decent status. Fell in love with it the moment I started playing. Finally decided to play online after I had beaten the Single Player game on Hardened, and not too long after I started playing it, I found Cain's Lair
