Trying to remember an 80s cartoon...need some help

I'm hoping someone here can solve this one for me. I've been trying to think of the name of this cartoon / toy from the 80s.

Its pretty close to what we know as Mechs. You had these big robots, but the robots were kinda alive. And some human can sit in them and take control of them.

They came out with a line of toys for these things. You had to build them up and they were actually robotized and you can move them. They were like 10-12 inches high...bigger than your normal transformers.

I might have missed the details or maybe screwed others up, but thats what I remember.
[this is where my funky sig would go. But I don't have one.

Might have been...there were 2-3 different animals I think.. and I'm pretty sure one was a dino type thing

You can only ask me about cartoons before 1970.

Good point... I forgot that the giant radios were still popular back then.

I member those. I can still sing the commercial that came on TV.

Believe it or not those are still REALLY POPULAR! http://www.roboticsandthings.com/ They are about to have the 4th annual Robotix camp.

Robotix (and then in a Robot Type voice) ROBOTIXXXX.

Yeah I never got into those really much. I think I had One Transformer.. maybe two, I had a barrel full of monkeys.. a bunch of other things that you don't see much of.

I was perusing through wal-mart the other day trying to pick something out for my daughter's birthday this weekend (we got her a Wii) and I found some "Lincon Logs". A big bucket full of those wooden logs that you can build log cabins and stuff with. I used to play with those things too.... God I must've been 7-8 years old.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
