Just found a thread like this on a different forum and it came back with some really interesting answers. So, i thought i'd post it here.

Imagine this: you are browsing away on Cain's Lair forums like what you're doing now, when all of a sudden the next thing you know you're lying in a hospital bed having just awoken from a 25 year coma. Lots of stuff has happened since then; you look different, the world is different, most of the people you know/love are gone.

How do you think you'd cope?

i would get up and go to www.cainlair.com and ask cain for just "one" more BF2 night.

Spend a moment to grieve for my parents, then suddenly realize that I'm now as old as they were when I entered the coma. Good lord, I'm...I'm as old as Apache! Nooooooooooo!

The oil is all gone, and civilization has collapsed. This is good because I couldn't get a job otherwise, since the most recent reference on my resume terminated me for typing on Cain's Lair (sudden coma = no time to close the window). I'm a tad behind on the technology anyway. Luckily the references needed to be a Mad Max motorcycle bandit are not so stringent. I enjoy my new profession until I realize that my coma-weakened muscles are incapable of keeping me on a hurtling motorcycle. Unfortunately, I realize this at approximately 150 mph.

On the plus side, my goatee is now long enough to braid.

I would go to Cain's to see what games he was hosting. My guess is BF2242 or UT5.


Hopefully CounterStrike 2 will have come out by then.

25 years in a bed ? Do you realize the bed sores would be heinous by that time. I'd hope somebody would roll me over on at least a daily basis to circumvent that. And your muscles would atrophy away by that point too.

I think I'd be kinda shocked, I'd go see if all my family/friends were all good, and then I'd probably go look around and chill at an old friends place while lookin for a job and whatnot... hey and baller would be 37... I'd be 38, depending on whether or not the coma happened within the next 3 months

Social life wise, I'd probably stick my phone on charge to see how many texts i'd missed.

I have a friend who had this happen. Not twenty years mind you just a couple of days. Story goes he was riding his motorcycle....then he woke up in the hospital. No idea what happened. Witnesses say he just crashed. It happened again. He went to doctor for a full work up. It turns out he had a tumor in his head. they were able to remove it ok.
