Facebook will Pwn MySpace?

MySpace, hmmm, when I think about it, lately I have been hearing that word EVERYWHERE you go. It?s as common as ?Googling? something on the internet.

You hear it on TV, Movies, Stand-Up Comics, the News, etc. It?s pretty much a household name. It?s the powerhouse social networking site that is, in my opinion, popular ONLY because it was probably the FIRST social networking site.

Thing is, it was voted the NUMBER 1 WORST website by PC World.

And I have to say, I DO agree! There are so many errors when trying submit mail, some people have had their accounts hacked (not saying that wont? happent to Facebook), SPAM from women that I thought were interested me as a dude she had the hots for, but turns out it?s just a link to a website for pornography.

Pretty much everyone I know has cancelled their MySpace account and moved to Facebook. Facebook is more for kids now. As a graphic designer by trade, the pain that most MySpace sites inflicted on my poor eyeballs was pretty horrific.

If by kids, he meant young adults, then I'd say he's right. Facebook started as a college social networking site. I don't know any friends (I'm in college) who don't have it.

The one redeeming feature of MySpace is music...there are a lot of indy bands on MySpace with some really good music that is fairly hard to find elsewhere. Which is a shame, because as much as I love music, I'm not willing to risk MyVirusAnimatedGifSpace to listen to it.

Facebook has been a great tool to get back in touch with friends from many years ago.
I had coffee with one of my better friends from highschool. She had moved overseas and we lost touch, but thanks for facebook, we managed to meet up and catch up, and plan to do so a few other times.

Had supper a few weeks ago with one of my wife's highschool friends. Hadn't seen him for the last 12 years, so was pretty fun to see where he ended up.

Many people say that there are a bunch of people they don't want to meet 15 years later, and thats fine. Just because you know me doesn't mean you are in my network on facebook.

Its funny how some people pride themselves on the quantity of friends they have. One of my cousins just broke the 1000 friends level.

While there are a whole bunch of games and apps on Facebook that people run to pass the time, if used for its intended purpose, a social network, I don't think they are pathetic at all. In fact, they are a great networking tool, awesome for coordinating local events, keeping in touch with old friends who have moved away and a great way to share pictures with people you don't always see.

Again, the tool is there, its how people put them to use.

So I disgree with your statement and don't find Facebook a waste of time. Who is to decide how time should be spent? I'm sure a great deal of people think gaming is a pathetic waste of time...
