That is artificial because of time zones. My father arrived in San Francisco 8 hours before he left the philippines.

Ok, how does this one work? You flying through the Bermuda Triangle or something?

There's only 5 hours difference between the UK and USA, and the international date line is on the other side of the globe.

i dont think time travel is possible in the way it is usually presented in sci-fi, the time dilation theory usually reffered to is from the special theory of relativity. the special theory mostly deals with funky perceptions rather than actual happenings, for instance, the yard stick only appears to stretch, its never physically distorted. think of light in the same terms as sound. if you could run faster than the speed of sound and someone shoots a gun, you could turn and runaway for maybe ten minutes. you'll hear the shot fired lets say 12 minutes later, but you didn't really move around in time, you just outran the sound waves. you would be doing the same thing if you could run faster than the speed of light. the only actual physical time dilation einstien predicted is caused by mass, not speed. speaking of which, time dilation only goes one way. as you approach a massive object, time slows down.... and only slows down. in that way, its possible to go into the future, in a crude way. just by being on earth, and as close to the sun as we are, we are already doing it to a small extent. soooooo, nope, you cant go kill grandpa and see what happens, but you could fly out 50 or so light years and look back with a telescope and see him as he used to be.
if you want to go with string theory though..... good luck, ive never met anyone that could make real sense of that freakyness.... but it makes for a lot more possibilities than relativity.

killing him in our time just wouldn't be the same. We all have a death wish we wanna kill our grandpa before we were born so we won't be alive... duh!
