    It's here

I got my Remington 700 this last Sunday. Unfortuanly I was way to hung over from a wedding to go to shooting range. However I spent the day setting it up with

    Harris Bi-pod S series
    Leupold Mark 2 6-18x40 scope
    Leatherwood piciatiny rings and rail

I have a quick cuff sling and cheek pad on order. I get to go shoot it this coming weekend

He actually shoots from that table right out the backyard. Its quite an effective deterrent to any teenagers who hang out in the alleyway and think they can smoke a blunt without getting it shot out of their mouth.

Don't even need a truck, you can shoot from a car just the same.

A buddy of mine just sold his stainless AR-15 composite with night vision for 1000 dollars. He was in a bind and needed the money. The scope alone was 975.00. I wish I had gotten to it before someone else.

Are you going to sight it in yourself or have it done professionally? If you do it yourself, just remember the following.
If you don't reload get at least two boxes of ammo since some factory loads are not as consistent as reloads. A bore sighter helps too. If you have binoculars it will save your legs. If your scope uses a screwdriver to adjust it make sure you don't forget it. And before you go call the shooting club and make sure they have bench rest or other means of supporting the rifle.

You can take it to a gun shop, usually, and have it boresighted for a few bucks. It will be pretty close, and I don't know about you guys, but I have usually taken no more than three shots to dial in a scope. Also, I use Hornady bullets. I have tried just about every bullet MFG and from my experience, Hornady wins hands down. I also like to sight my weapons in from 75 to 100 yards.

I use Sierra, Speer and Hornady. I have great results with all three.

Yeah I plan on sighting in the rifle myself. I like figuring out stuff and learning. I had read up on it about the two boxes of ammo. I've even heard to get two boxes of ammo from differing mfgs to first find the ammo with the best groupings and then use that to dial it in. I also bought a laser bore sighter too... The range I'm going to has bench rests.

                            Thanks for the tips guy's

Cool, I was going to suggest a laser boresight but I didn't know if you planned anything like that in the budget. A guy I did some work for (shady character) invented and patented the laser boresights that come in the caliber of any given weapon. It looks like a fired cartridge that someone put the guts in it and points the laser down the tube. Nice purchase. If it came directly from him, and not a second-hand mfg, it has a guaranteed accuracy of some degree. G'luck with that.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
