Call an exterminator!
Personally, I'd be washing paintball juice, blood, and feathers off the side of my house. Who knows, I may even be filling in a bullet hole or two.
I can say this because I have done it and I live 1/2 a mile from city hall. I fired my 7mm Magnum into a big pine tree at 12:00 a.m. the first day of 2000. I did that though, to shut up the neighbors who were firing a .357 into a tree behind my house and raising hell. One shot and they quit shooting. Cops rode by... bout it.

Go with the Goggle Resolve
Repellents
Visual Repellents. The best way to keep pesky little woodpeckers from destroying valuable trees and wood sidings is to discourage them from pecking using a visual repellent. Plastic twirlers (windmills), pie pans or strips of brightly colored plastic or aluminum can effectively chase away these pests. You can also buy commercial visual bird repellents.
You can make your own visual repellents with common aluminum foil, which may be the most effective visual repellent.
1)Cut strips of aluminum 2 to 3 inches wide and 2 to 3 ft long.
2)Attach one end of several strips to a 6 to 8 inch string.
3)Nail small brads or nails 2 to 3 ft from the damage area. If you put them on a building, put them 6 to 10 ft apart.
4)Attach each string to the small brad so that the foil strips hang freely and move with the breeze.
Might even be something the kids could build on the weekend. If you have kids
Of course YOU would hang it.

BTW, don't think that you can shoot a bird with an air rifle and not hurt him. I accidentally killed a goose a few years ago when I was only trying to scare him away.
The story is that I lived on a pond and geese were a common sight. But one day they really got outta hand. I counted 64 geese on my front lawn. Now the first thing you need to know about Canada Geese is that they are called "rats with wings" and they crap profusely. Even just two of them on your lawn everyday means bird crap everywhere. But 64 of them?!?
I started by just trying to shoo them away. But they would either run or swim 20 feet away and then stop. As soon as I left, there they were crapping up my lawn again.
Then I started throwing pine cones at them. Again, they would move just outta range and then come right back as soon as I left. I felt I needed some way to show them I meant business.
So I grabbed by trusty BB gun outta the hall closet, pumped it once and fired at the rear end of one of the interloping geese. The BB shot out of the barrel and hit the ground about 15 feet ahead. So I pumped it twice and shot a goose right in the arse. The BB seemed to hit with very little force, kind of like shooting a feather pillow, but it was enough to at least cause him to fly off. So I zeroed in on another and fired.
I missed his rear. The BB actually hit him in the neck and went straight through. I couldn't tell, though, because there was no blood or anything. But the goose started like choking or something. He died a few minutes later.
I feel really bad about what happened. I didn't mean to hurt the stupid thing. I just wanted them to stop fouling my lawn where kids like to play.
I haven't touched that BB gun since.

Hammy
if his libido is represented by the ferocity he plucks away at that tin on your roof, he's going to need more than one Mrs. Pecker.
He'll need an entire gymnastic team of Ms peckers to satisfy himself.
