For real or a another Hoax!

The following message I recieved at work from a co-worker. Has anyone heard about this lately? I only ask b/c I took my mother to Olive garden for Mother's Day and since then, she has been sick. Just want to know if this is a concidence or for real.

    IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Three women in North Florida turned up at hospitals over

a 5-day period, all with the same symptoms.

Fever, chills, and vomiting, followed by muscular collapse,

    paralysis and finally, death.

    There were no outward

    signs of trauma.

Autopsy results showed toxicity in the blood. These women did not know each other and seemed to have nothing in common. It was discovered, however, that they had all visited the
same Restaurant (Olive Garden) within days of their deaths. The Health Department descended on the restaurant , shutting it down. The food, water, and air conditioning were all inspected and tested, to no avail.

The big break came when a waitress at the restaurant was rushed to the hospital with similar symptoms. She told doctors that she had been on vacation, and had only went to the restaurant to pick up her check..

She did not eat or drink while she was there, but had used the restroom.

That is when one toxicologist, remembering an article he had read, drove out to the restaurant, went into the restroom and lifted the toilet seat .

Under the seat, out of normal view , was a small spider. The spider was captured and brought back to the lab, where it was determined to be the Two-Striped Telamonia (Telamonia dimidiata), so named because of its reddened flesh color.&nb sp; This spider's venom is extremely toxic, but can take several days to take effect. They live in cold, dark,
damp climates, and toilet rims provide just the right atmosphere.

Several days later a lawyer from Jacksonville showed up at a hospital emergency room. Before his death, he told the doctor, that he had been away on business, had taken a flight from Indonesia , changing planes in Singapore , before returning home. He did NOT visit (Olive Garden),
while there. He did (as did all of the other victims) have what was determined to be a puncture wound. Investigators discovered that the flight he was on had originated in India .

The Civilian Aeronautics Board (CAB) ordered an
immediate inspection of the toilets of all flights from India and discovered the Two-Striped Telamonia (Telamonia dimidiata) spider's nests on 4 different planes!

It is now believed that these spiders can be anywhere in the country.

So please, before you use a public toilet, lift the seat to check for spiders. It can save your life!

And please pass this on to everyone you care about.

Snopes is always a good place to check on these things.

I was going to check snopes as well.

I find that 98% of these emails are hoaxes.

I have a co-worker who has a nasty habit of sending all of this crap around by email, and I always reply with a quote / link from snopes.

I was turned to snopes many years ago by a local cop. I had asked about an email about gang killings where as you drive around and if you see someone without his lights and flash your highbeams at him, they would drive by and shoot you. Some sort of gang ritual.

He told me it was not true and then told me about snopes.

One of the only good encounters I have had with cops.

Yes I use Snopes as well, but I have arrived to the point where every email I see that says something like .. "And please pass this on to everyone... " I delete it. There are certain people at my company that seem to have addiction for these kind of chain emails, I find it annoying.
That one you mention, Twinky, I've seen it as well but in the Spanish version. Some are so old and still circulating that I think that missing boy must be 40 by now.
One of my friends sent me one the other day that said: If you send this to 10 people Mercadona (a supermaket chain we have here) will send you a free laptop or something like that.... I wonder how there are still people that believe it!

I remember the one about how Microsoft is tracking email usage and they will be chosing random people to send money to if they participate in the tracking.

When I asked someone to not send me crap like that, they replied "Well, you never know. Better safe than sorry". And its these types of people these people need to send their garbage.

The latest one I received (which I also received 7-8 years ago) was about how wearing deodorant would give you breast cancer.

                  Ha. Exactly.

I'm not sure when the last time I saw an informative/epidemic/beware of/pass this on email that wasn't garbage.

Dude, take her to the Dr. just in case. The email may be a hoax but there is a very bad resperatory infection that is going around the country. My wife and daughter had it about 3 weeks ago and both of them had it turn into bronchitas. The bad part is they are still getting over it in their lungs. It is nothing to play with and better safe than sorry. I didn't catch it of course, I haven't been sick in over 10 years and hopefully will stay that way.

Olive Gardens are pretty nasty, they don't need spiders biting you in the arse to make you sick. I worked at one for a year or so when I was younger.

                      "Excuse me sir."

                      "Yes?"

                      "Could you get the manager?"

                      "Is there a problem?"

"The service is great, just please get the manager."

"No problem, I'll get him right away. If you don't mind me asking, what's wrong?"

"Two roaches just crawled out of our salad bowl."

One of many, many stories I could tell about OG.
