mapes thanks for the feedback. I am taking this one slow, will take my safety course next month and most of the dealerships around here allow test drives. Also many of the new models years start coming out as early as July, so the '08 will start getting marked down.

So I am giving myself until end of July to figure out which way to go.

My coworker just got the Ducati Monster SR2 1000 in black. That is sweet looking machine. I didn't realize they started to put single sided swingarms on the monsters

Can I make one more suggestion here? Do what I did.

Go buy a bike (a year old sitting on the showroom floor) for about 3k.
Drive it around as much as you can. After that, you will know more than what can be written in this thread.

Example: the ride heigth and seat position. Aggressive, low, high, slingback, etc.

From there you get into comfort in weight.
Then you go to engine size.
Then you go for road comfort (feedback).

And then you are engrained

I used to date a girl in the vintage scooter scene here in California. theres a weird issue here in the states that Piaggio pulled out of the US market and let the trademark Vespa lapse. Scooter works in chichago pickup up the trademark (as they were the only ones keeping Italian scooters going here in the US. Since I think Piaggio has not bothered to try and bring in scoots. In any event I kinda Hate old Vespas. Meaning I repaired and rebuilt way to many of em

My 02 R1 gets about 35 MPG and my totally modified Honda Hawk gets about 48....with race carbs!!!!
