    My company hates me

I work for a company called Michael's Arts and Crafts. They have his great habit of sending me someplace with extreme weather at the worst time of the year. I have to be on a 6 am flight to Dallas on sunday for a meeting on monday. Dallas....in august. Thanks! Third time the've done that. About as bad as when they sent me to Fairbanks, Alasksa in January.

I hate to travel on a Sunday when the meetings are on Monday. I really do. I feel your pain. Take it easy!

I used to work for a company like that. In December 1987 I got to go to Oklahoma during a blizzard. Also the Ice storm in Iowa. In January 1988 it was Buffalo during a blizzard. There was December of 1988 and the blizzard in Nebraska.
And my favorite was sending me home for Christmas in South Georgia in989. That one gave us 3 inches of snow. It might not sound like much snow but we are 15 miles from Florida and Tampa got snow that year.

              I feel, in a way

I got to drive a city bus in every snowstorm Madison had during this record year. Pure joy.

I feel your pain Jonny. My airline conducts all their train in Dallas and I went through 6 weeks in the summer of 2000 for Saab upgrade training. Dry heat or not 106 F is too hot.

Hah, I used to drive tour bus when I lived in Las Cruces, New Mexico...trips to Nevada, and many other places...remember the temps in Phoenix and Laughlin being around 118 degrees on my last trip. Walking across a parking lot was terrible...but maybe better than sliding across it on ice. Coin toss.

I feel for you but spare a thought for the boys and girls in the desert countries with full packs and shots flying above their heads for probably less that the girl at the check in earns. Now thats hot

Well, I'm back. 3 days and the coolest was 106. And then I get off the plane back in Seattle and it's 87. IN SEATTLE!

The hottest environment I ever had to work in was on feed station in the belly of the reactor plant on the USS Carl Vinson. A balmy 130 for 5 out of every 15 hours for months. Plus being exposed to radiation.

Your boss chose the worst days to be here. Two of the three days you were here, records were set. One for most energy used in one day, and the other for highest temperature ever for that given day.

The hottest that I can ever remember being in, for weather, is 111, and that was a few summers ago. Boy was it miserable!
