You forgot to list, stand just outside his property line and yell to attract his attention. Oh, and you may want to pay a surveyor to correctly mark his property line.

Where do you put the Bayonet?

Judges have to use, hey whats their title, oh yeah, judgement.
This whole BS in some states, my home state NC included, that they must forcefully enter you home, show a weapon and you must be fearful of your life is a load of crap.
I don't care where the hell I am, an individual entering my home does so at their own risk. I will not shoot to wound! When I shoot, it will be guaranteed they won't survive and before anybody ask, no I will not lose any sleep or have any feelings of guilt.
not to mention that its also ridiculous that if someone has robed your house and you catch them running out.. you cant shoot them from behind.. whether they're in your house or not..

but it goes to show you

That is actually ok by me.

Hammy I did a fair amount of research and I have no idea why your friend got the charge he did. Granted I can't find any info for CA and the "Castle Doctrine" however there is no duty to retreat in your own home here in CA. I believe the CA laws says you can use an appropriate amount of force to defend yourself or someone else upto and including deadly force. You just have to believe you were in mortal danger....sounds like an over zealous DA.

Yay..I'm not alone! I set up cameras on every door, window and garage in my house. I got the neighborhood's permission first of course, since I live in a gated off community. One of my camera's caugth a GTA a couple months ago. luckily, the footage was good enough to get an id on the suspect. My neighbors love me now and beleive me...I wasn't their favorite when I asked to put up cameras around my house.
