I agree with you fiery in a way. The mass media is a bunch of bullcrap, but if we aren't "reminded" of this day, we do forget who we are and what we represent.

September 10th here were hardly any flags.

September 12th there was a flag on nearly every house.

And I agree as well vito. I was in 6th grade when this happened. I had no clue what a terrorist was or what was going on that day in School. What was for lunch was more on my mind.

The next year we had a moment of silence on this day. Ever since we haven't done jack except maybe mention "Oh hey it's September 11th"

This was supposibly a bigger hit on us than Pearl Harbor, which was claimed the biggest attack against the US. We should always remember that we are still standing after that day and are not broken.

I think it's important to remember 911 (it's almost impossible to forget). But more importantly we should make sure the rat bastards that thought it was so wonderful never forget either. Right now I'm busy putting a shine on some B-2 bombers. Maybe someday we will drop a few megatons of "justice" on Osama Ben Screwed-up's head and then we can have a kegger. Until then we should keep our minds on security, and our eyes on the target.

"Remember the Alamo, Remember Pearl Harbor, Remember 911"!!!!

Yeah...that's right Ben...just hold still like that for me.....

I don't know if any of you know this but Mohammad Otta and the other terrorist that flew to Boston from Portland ME did a test run on one of my flights a few days before this all happened. I sure wont ever forget this.

As for the media coverage, well if they didn't get ratings they wouldn't show it.

To forget these days is to forget who we are, and the trials we have endured.

No, sorry if I confused anyone.
I meant a moment of silence after that day.

NYC Schools went into lockdown for the day. Most of the older students knew what was going on.

                          My story that morning....

On the day it happend I remember calling my wife @ 9:15 from work and telling her to get the kids out of school NOW !! because NYC Schools were going into lock down any minute. Its no secret why the only kids released from PS56 that morning were children of families who worked for NYC. When Karen got there there were 4 families requesting their children, 2 worked for NYPD, 1 from NYFD and 1 from NYDEP ( me ).

She arrived at the school and got the kids, and it wasn't 5 minutes after that they went into lock down. 1 of the children pulled out never did see their father again.

City Agencies were calling in EVERYONE into work who was off that day and we didn't know when we would be getting home. I reported to work normally that Tuesday 9-11 @ 7:00am and got home sometime Wednesday 9-12 In the early evening. We all ran 16 hour shifts on and 8 hours off. Alot of us lived too far away and many nights slept at the shop in Brooklyn right over the bridge.

Now just to be clear....I worked there along with many others who were far braver and shared much more of the burden and at a much greater cost.

With that said, our saddest and most personal loss came months later when we learned of Kev's injuries sustained while working at the site.....

Kev was the brother of my good friend and next door neighbor Dave, who some of you may remember as =A82A= HAWK. He played Day of Defeat back in the day. Kev, his brother lived 2 blocks away.

                          I felt that worth mentioning.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
